In only its second year of existence, Hybrid Audio
Technologies and Team Hybrids competitors once again
dominate the organized car audio competition scene
with wins and placements at five different
organization’s national and world finals events.
"I am extremely excited for our Hybrids team”
exclaims Scott Buwalda, founder and managing
director of Hybrid Audio Technologies, LLC, and
former three-time expert world champion. “At the
2005 International Auto Sound Challenge Association
(IASCA®)
world finals, we produced two
world championship victories. We backed up last
year’s successes in the 2006 season with national
and world championship victories and placements in
the European Mobile Multimedia Association (EMMA®),
Mobile Autosound Competition Association (MECA®),
United States Autosound Competition International
(USACi®), and of course in IASCA®
as well (including IASCA – UK). What takes years
for some manufacturers to achieve, if ever at all,
we were able to achieve in 2005 after only being
officially organized for less than three months, and
now again in 2006."
Team Hybrids, the official competition team of
Hybrid Audio Technologies, consisted of eleven
members in the 2006 season. National and/or world
championship trophies were earned by John Paul in
the IASCA – UK competition format, Dave Lechner in
the USACi format, and Andy Jones in the MECA
competition format. Team Hybrids would especially
like to recognize John Paul, Dave Lechner, and Andy
Jones for their achievements in addition to winning
their world championship trophies: John Paul went on
to win the season’s EMMA point championship, winning
second place at the EMMA championships, and won
every show but one in the IASCA – UK event series in
2006; Dave Lechner won USACi World Finals best of
show honors; Andy Jones won 13 events this year and
was nominated “most improved” several times in 2006
MECA season. In addition to the championships
achieved, Team Hybrids also had several top
placements, including several championship
runners-up, as follows: Asher Noll (2nd
place, Rookie, IASCA world finals), Jason Pellino (2nd
place, Street Amateur, IASCA world finals), Richard
Paladino (2nd place, MECA world finals),
Rick Sellers (2nd place, Intermediate
Pro, USACi world finals), Team Hybrids Project 240
demo vehicle (3rd place, Ultimate Pro,
IASCA world finals), Chris Kemp (3rd
place, Ultimate Pro, IASCA – UK finals), Cameron
Wilkinson (4th place, Semi-Pro, IASCA
world finals), and John Marsh (5th place,
Ultimate Pro, IASCA world finals.
